PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner particles having less of the residual amount of monomers and an organic volatile component, and to provide a method for inexpensively manufacturing toner particles while adding no excessive load on a waste water treatment equipment. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing toner particles includes a polymerization step of dispersing a polymerizable monomer composition containing at least a colorant and polymerizable monomers in a dispersion medium and polymerizing the polymerizable monomers, wherein a carrier gas is introduced into a polymer dispersion obtained in the second half period of polymerization or after the polymerization so as to remove at least an organic volatile component from the polymer dispersion liquid.
