PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a cleaner for an optical connector, which has satisfactory cleaning performance and whose handling is easy in various work circumstances. SOLUTION: The plastic axial bar 10 of a cleaner for an optical connector has a support part 1 to which a cleaning cloth bag is to be attached and a handle part 2 having a plurality of notched parts. The cleaning cloth bag made of ultra-super fine fibers is put on the support part 1 and moreover a heat shrinkable tube is put on a constriction part 1-2, and the cleaning cloth bag is fixed to the support part 1 by heating the heat shrinkable tube. The handle part 2 has a tapered part 2-1 and notched parts 2-2. Since an extension pipe can be attached to the tapered part 2-1, the full length of the cleaner can be extended. Since the notched parts 2-2 can be bent in arbitrary angles, a worker can perform the cleaning work of even an optical connector of a place where the cleaner can not reach by structure of optical communication equipment easily. Moreover, generation of static electricity is suppressed by using a conductive resin in the plastic axial bar or by coating the plastic axial bar with the conductive resin.
