PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously implement a surface inspection and a rotational deflection inspection for a cylinder 90. SOLUTION: A cylinder inspecting apparatus is provided with a light-emitting section 41 for irradiating the cylinder 90 with a measurement light 43, a light-receiving section 42 for receiving the measurement light 43 from the light-emitting section 41, a rotation deflection measuring means 4 for measuring the quantity of a rotational deflection of the cylinder 90, an illuminator 10 for illuminating the outer surface of the cylinder 90, a camera 30 for imaging the outer surface of the cylinder 90 illuminated by the illuminator 10, and a surface state measuring means 5 for measuring the surface state of the cylinder 90. Since the illumination light from the illuminator 10 does not contain a light of within the light-receiving wavelength region of the light-receiving section 42, the light-receiving section 42 for detecting the quantity of the rotational deflection prevents being influenced by the illumination light for detecting surface state.
