PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix movement in a scanning direction of a carriage at the time of transportation in a state with a head removed from the carriage. SOLUTION: The head is removed from the carriage, whereby a lock arm pivoted by the carriage is operated by a spring which urges the lock arm. A belt is caught and fixed between the lock arm and the carriage. In consequence, the movement in the scanning direction of the carriage is fixed surely. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
