PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate construction and maintain an excellent impervious property for a long period of time. SOLUTION: An impervious structure applied on the surface of a place to be impervious and shielding the place to be impervious against water is provided with an impervious sheet 2 laid on the surface of the place to be impervious, a protecting mat 3 laminated on the surface of the impervious sheet 2 and a jointing means 6 jointing the impervious sheet to the protecting mat 3. The jointing means 6 is provided with an interlocking member 7 jointed to the surface of the impervious sheet 2 and interlocking it with the protecting mat 3 each other, and an adhesive 8 applied at least on either of the interlocking member 7 or the protecting mat 3 and bonding both in an interlocked state. Since the protecting mat 3 can be applied only by being laid on the upper part of the impervious sheet 2 and interlocking the peripheral part with the interlocking member 7 on the side of the impervious sheet 2 through the adhesive 8, a high technology or a skill is not required for application of the protecting mat 3, and even an unexperienced worker can sufficiently apply the protecting mat 3.
