PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a watertight mixture enabling easy filling between conductors and between conductor and insulator, and maintaining watertightness for a long time even after subjected to mechanical deformation such as bending, which can be used to make a watertight insulated electric wire using a simple device, and to provide a method of manufacturing a watertight insulated electric wire having further improved watertightness using the watertight mixture. SOLUTION: This watertight mixture comprises 0.1 to 1.0 pts.wt. of ethylene- acrylic acid/maleic acid anhydride copolymer, 1.0 to 10.0 pts.wt. of benzotriazole or its derivative and a silane crosslinking agent to 100 pts.wt. of an olefinic resin. This watertight insulated electric wire is obtained by heating the watertight mixture at 70 to 150 deg.C to fill between conductors, coating the entirety with an insulating material and crosslinking the silane crosslinking agent. |
