The device has a retention hook (5) of U shape with two arms (8,9) for retaining a lower edge of a slate board (1). The arm (9) forms an open angle with a jamb (4) in order to delimit an oblique insertion axis of the board inside the hook with respect to the jamb. An apex of the angle constitutes a support point (10) of the board between hook and jamb in order to allow pivoting by inertia of the board, after insertion in the hook.
