PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for protecting a packed object, such as an indoor apparatus of an air conditioner, from shocks, which is easy to make up and has an excellent effect on the protection. SOLUTION: This shock absorber 2 has four supporting cardboard parts 5a-5d which are positioned in the back, each erected at suitable intervals, and arranged in parallel with one another, right and left side cardboard parts 6, 6 the back end parts of which adjoin the two sides of the supporting cardboard parts 5a-5d, hollow parts-forming cardboards 7 one-end parts of which adjoin the respective front-end parts of the respective side cardboard parts 6, 6 and cover the supporting cardboard parts 5a-5d in keeping with their shapes from the front, and butt joint cardboard parts 9 which adjoin the other end parts of the respective hollow parts-forming cardboards 7 and are laid on each other at suitable positions breadthways in the shock absorber, and in which slits 9a-9d are formed in such a manner as to make them engage mutually with slits 8a-8d formed at suitable positions breadthways in the supporting cardboard parts 5a-5d. By engaging the slits 9a-9d in the butt joint cardboard parts 9 with the slits 8a-8d in the supporting cardboard parts 5a-5d a hollow part 4 into which an end part of a packed object is fit is formed in the front. |
