The invention relates to a telecommunications system for transmitting multimedia messages from a first telecommunications terminal (10) to a second telecommunications terminal (12) via a telecommunications network. The inventive system comprises a message server (18) provided for receiving the messages from the first terminal and for transmitting them to the second telecommunications terminal. The message server (18) comprises means for developing a message broadcasting program to be downloaded by the second terminal for broadcasting the messages according to the characteristics of said second terminal.
