A dish rack has a collector tray that has a compartment. A retaining block 10 is seated in the compartment for holding knives or other utensils having sharp edges. The block 10 has a shell 42 defining an interior space and having a top wall 56 with a plurality of elongate slots 58. An elongated holder 44 extends from each slot 58 into the interior space to receive a respective knife. The block 10 also has side walls 46, 48, 50, 52 of which two 46, 48 may have projections 40 for engagement in holes in side walls of the compartment to retain the block therein. The collector tray may have other compartments and may be attached to a side wall of the dish rack, which may comprise a wire frame. |
