The invention relates to a collapsible container for shipping articles such as automotive transparencies, more particularly automotive windshields and in particular, to a base (32) having a cut out portion (59). The cut out portion allows a person loading and/or unloading the container to walk on the floor supporting the base for ease of loading/unloading articles on the base at the rear of the container.
