The method involves constituting a database concerning the current regulation related to vehicle traffic, a database concerning rules specific to a vehicle, and a database corresponding to particular speeds. Contextual zones (Z1-Z6) are defined inside a general zone, and paths (T1, T2) are determined inside the zones. Dates on which a route is predicted are determined, possible routes are calculated and an optimal route is determined.
