The piston assembly (12), mounted on a rod (11) forming part of the steering rack (6), consists of a pressed sheet metal body (21) with a first portion (22) in the shape of a sleeve fixed by rolling to the rod or rack, and a second portion (23) comprising an annular web extending in a plane perpendicular to the central axis (A) of the first portion. The outer edge of the web has an over-moulded annular seal (27) of rubber or a synthetic material with two lips (30, 31) and a pair of anti-extrusion rings (35, 36). |
