The method involves iteratively performing a combined image editing step that involves selecting an image source, selecting a part of the selected image and selecting a format for displaying the part in a combined image. The image sources, parts and display formats are stored, after the editing step. The combined image is displayed and each displayed image part is automatically restored during the display of the combined image. An independent claim is also included for a device for editing an audiovisual program.
