The method involves pre-positioning a disk (16) of a valve by anticipation control in open loop as per set point position values, pressure variation, and determined characteristics of a helical spring and an electric motor (14). An error between the disk position and the set point position is found. The disk is positioned by a feedback control in closed loop in combination with the anticipation control as per the error. The determined characteristics of the spring are stiffness and static restoring torque. An independent claim is also included for a device to control position of a movable closing unit of a valve at a set point position value variable in time.
