<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking lot control apparatus and method capable of easing congestion within a parking lot and stably adjusting parking fees by means of a simple arrangement. <P>SOLUTION: In place of a conventional parking lot control apparatus, the parking lot control apparatus records vehicle identification information on a parking ticket, the information being created without contact when a vehicle enters the parking lot. The control apparatus then causes a central system to record vehicle identification information created without contact when the vehicle enters a parking area, the time of parking, and parking area information, and also causes the central system to record vehicle identification information created without contact when the vehicle exits the parking area, the time of exiting, and the parking area information. When accepting a request for the parking ticket, the control apparatus records on the parking ticket the time of parking and the time of exiting, both of which are associated with the vehicle identification information recorded on the parking ticket, among a series of times of parking and times of exiting that are recorded in the central system.
