METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CALCULATING NUTRIENTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for calculating nutrients, enabling a system user to use daily nutrition intake information for daily health management/promotion by automatically calculating nutrients taken through a meal and the quantities thereof from image data of the meal content, and accumulating them in a database in time series as the daily nutrition intake information.

SOLUTION: The method and system for calculating nutrients comprises automatically estimating a cooking name or food name by extracting tableware by template matching from the image data of the meal content including a reference object and measuring texture characteristics of the meal content image data within the tableware; and calculating the nutrients taken and the quantities thereof from the estimated menu name or food name.
