PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel that can facilitate the control of the braking force through the thumbing operation over a wide range. SOLUTION: In an fishing reel that has the thumbing operation part on one side of the spool 47 that is rotatably supported by the reel body 31, the thumbing operation part is constituted of the first thumbing operation part 75 composed of the outer surface of the flange of the spool and the second thumbing operation part 77 that has a different shape from the first thumbing operation part and is formed within the radial direction of the thumbing operation part. In addition, a plurality of uneven parts 78 are formed at at least one part of the first thumbing operation part or the second thumbing part and the second thumbing operation part is made inclined face 85 as the diameter is decreased in the radial direction.
