<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain biological image information of a subject in the observation area of an endoscopic observation image and the biological image information with the depth inside the subject by a simple structure and at a low cost, to securely provide the information when necessary for an operator while performing a surgery, and to change the display mode of the biological image information by a simple operation. <P>SOLUTION: A virtual image generating part 11 included in the surgery support system 1 generates virtual image data based on the result of detection by sensors 3a-3c and displays images together with endoscopic images on first-third monitors for operators 32, 34 and 36 based on the virtual image data corresponding to the operators by a CPU 25.
