PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for attaining a high definition image while suppressing increase in noise incident to high resolution by synthesis of low resolution images. SOLUTION: An image processor comprises an edge detecting section and a high resolution processing section. The high resolution processing section selects and executes high resolution processing by synthetic high resolution processing mode at a position where an edge is detected by the edge detecting section, and selects and executes high resolution processing by simple high resolution processing mode at a position where an edge is not detected.
