PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color gamut compression apparatus capable of reproducing colors in common among a plurality of apparatuses by realizing the coincidence of viewing of a printed matter among a plurality of the apparatuses. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus uses an equal hue line optimum in a color gamut designated by a user by taking into account a difference from a color gamut shape among the apparatuses.
