PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mirror support structure in which displacement of a projection image on a screen is reduced or minimized even when each curved mirror changes due to temperature, and to provide a projection optical system using the mirror support structure. SOLUTION: The projection optical system 20 includes the plurality of curved mirrors 1c and 1d. Three parts of each of the curved mirrors 1c and 1d are supported by a support section 3 such that two of them are located on the same plane and one of them is located on a different plane. One group 1c and the other group 1d of the curved mirror 1, which offset optical axis displacement 11, are opposite to each other in the relation of the disposition of the support section 3 for the two parts of each of the curved mirrors 1c and 1d and the support section 3 for the one part.
