PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photothermographic material having high density and reduced fog, and having excellent optical irradiation image preservability and an excellent silver color tone. SOLUTION: In the photothermographic material in which the surface of a support is provided with an image forming layer comprising an organic silver salt, silver halide, a binder and a reducing agent, the silver halide has the average grain size of 10 to 50 nm, and also has a polymer with a partial structure expressed by the general formula (1) and a compound expressed by the general formula (2).
