PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine drive power source device which prevents the occurrence of leakage and an electric shock accident when a connector to connect a consent for connecting a load to the output part of a power source device element is separated. SOLUTION: In an engine drive power source device where a plug socket 6B for load connection is connected through a connector to the output end of a power source device element 5 to output a power needed to drive a load with a generator 3, driven by an engine 1, serving as a power source, a switch SW for detecting a connector state where an off-state is held when a connector 7 is separated and an on-state is held when the connector is connected is situated at the connector 7. An exciter coil 2e to apply a power source voltage on an ignition device 4 is connected to the ignition device 4 through the switch SW and when the connector 7 is separated, the operation of the ignition device is stopped to stop the engine.
