PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply constituted backhoe 1 which can adjust the angle of inclination of a transfer means 40 so that it can place excavated earth and sand on itself and place the excavated earth and sand onto a transport vehicle or the like in the rear, which enables the transfer means to move in the width direction, and which can broaden an operating range of excavation. SOLUTION: The backhoe 1 is provided with a travelling body 20, a rotating body 10, and a blade 25. The travelling body 20 is provided with a crawler or the like, and the rotating body 10 provided above the travelling body 20 has a means of excavation work 15. Then the blade 25 provided at the front of the travelling direction of the travelling body 20 oscillates up and down. Then a transfer means 40 such as a belt conveyor is provided above the travelling body 20, and the transfer means 40 makes the travelling direction of the travelling body 20 a longitudinal direction. One side of the transfer means 40 is connected to the blade 25 so that the transfer means 40 can freely rotate. Then the side of the transfer means 40, which is more rearward than the connection position of the transfer means 40 to the blade 25, is connected to the rear of the travelling body 20 in the travelling direction.
