PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeper for effectively using resources, substantially hardly causing abrasion by friction with an installation surface such as a rail and a roadbed. SOLUTION: This sleeper 1 has a structure of fixing short size packing 3 to the bottom surface 6 side of a long size body part 2. The body part 2 is molded by processing synthetic timber with glass long fiber embedded by arranging in the longitudinal direction. The packing 3 is a resin mold including a short fiber component 9 composed of chips of the synthetic timber generated when processing the body part 2 and an abrasion resistant chip 11 composed of synthetic rubber, and is higher in compressive strength and abrasion resistance than the body part 2. In the sleeper 1, the packing 3 is interposed between a bridge girder B being the installation surface and the body part 2, and abrasion of the body part 2 is hardly caused.
