PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water cleaning effect without directly heating wash water by preheating laundry, a water tub and the like by means of hot air before feeding water for starting a wash cycle. SOLUTION: This washing machine with the drying function is provided with the water tub 1, a drum 2, an air sending fan unit 7 and a heater unit 8 for generating the hot air, and a circulation route 4 circulatively feeding the hot air to the water tub 1 and the drum 2; and implements washing, rinsing, and spin-drying processes and the drying process by the hot air. This washing machine rotationary drives the drum 2 storing the laundry before feeding water in the wash cycle, circulatively feeds the hot air to execute a preheating operation of preheating the laundry, the water tub 1 and the like, and provides the hot water cleaning effect in the subsequent wash cycle.
