PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing in which a reel body can be formed in a compact structure and minimized and lightened. SOLUTION: The spinning reel for fishing is equipped with an oscillating mechanism 40 having a small gear 42 provided at a handle shaft 20, an interlocking gear 44 rotating by engagement with the gear of the handle shaft 20 and an engaging projection 46 provided eccentrically from rotation center of the interlocking gear 44 and converting rotation motion of the handle shaft 20 to longitudinal reciprocating motion of a spool shaft 38 by engaging the engaging projection with an engaging groove of a sliding body attached to the rear of the spool shaft 38, and a supporting part 58 for movably supporting at least either one of the rear of a pinion 24 integrally rotating a rotor 36 by engagement with a driving gear 22 provided in the handle shaft 20 and the spool shaft 38. In the spinning reel for fishing, when the small gear 42 provided in the handle shaft 20 is viewed along the shaft direction of the handle shaft 20, the small gear 42 is arranged in a state overlapping with a part of a base part positioned on the reel body side of the supporting part 58, and the supporting part 58 and the handle shaft 20 are arranged in mutually proximate state.
