<p>The invention relates to a state-recognition device which is used to ascertain the state of a clutch device between an engine and a gearbox of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, a signal (SEF) is supplied which is representative of the state of the clutch device, said signal (SEF) taking account of a signal (SEMB) that is representative of the clutched state and of a signal (SDEB) that is representative of the declutched state. The aforementioned signals (SEMB and SDEB) are calculated from a signal (V/N) that represents the ratio of the speed (V) of the vehicle to the speed (N) of the engine and from a signal (dN/dt) that represents the first engine speed derivative with respect to time. According to the invention, the signal (SEMB) characterisation step comprises a step consisting in characterising the stability of the signal (V/N).</p> |
