<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding material obtained by impregnating a porous alloy layer with a resin, and to provide its production method. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the sliding material, Bi is unevenly distributed in the range of 2 to 16 mass% into a Cu-Sn matrix, and, each part where a large quantity of Bi is unevenly distributed is made into an oil reservoir by the fall-off of Bi owing to its movement under the use.
