<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the whereabouts of a flashlight to be easily known even in darkness and to allow the flashlight to be found out even in a handbag by always lighting a lamp with the minimum brightness. <P>SOLUTION: This flashlight is composed by connecting a high-luminance LED 1, a battery 2 a low-resistance-value resistor 3 and a high-resistance-value resistor 5 in series to one another. A switch 4 is connected to both ends of the high-resistance-value resistor 5 in parallel with it. Thereby, the high-luminance LED 1 is darkly lit even when the switch is not turned on by the action of the high-resistance-value resistor 5.
