PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the same output as one when a detector with a seemingly small amount of pixels is used in response to desired wavelength resolution, without using a PDA detector with a large amount of pixels to change an optical configuration. SOLUTION: The spectrophotometer integrates, by a capacitor 82, current signals outputted by one pixel from the PDA detector every one pulse of a shiftclock CK, and samples to hold the current signals at timing that clamp operation by a switch 87 is released to an S/H circuit 91. The spectrophotometer cuts off reset control signals RS for closing a resetting switch 83 discharging the capacitor 83, clamp control signals CP, and trigger control signals TG every one pulse of the shift clock CK.Thus the spectrophotometer may current-add two pixel signals adjacent in a wavelength direction by the capacitor 82 to drop seemingly to a half of the wavelength resolution by A/D converting the added voltage signals.
