PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of providing the layout of storage compartments of high usability, preventing frost formation by efficiently arranging ducts, and enlarging an effective storage space by reducing a dead space. SOLUTION: This refrigerator is composed of a cooling unit 7 for refrigerating space, a cooling unit 9 for freezing space, fans 8, 10 for discharging cold air produced by the cooling units, and a plurality of cooling storage compartments such as a refrigerating compartment 2, a vegetable compartment 5 and a freezing compartment 6, storage compartments of a freezing temperature such as an ice-making compartment 3 and a temperature switching compartment 4 are mounted between the refrigerating compartment and the vegetable compartment positioned at an uppermost part of a refrigerator main body, return ducts 27, 28 from the ice-making compartment and the temperature switching compartment to the cooling unit for freezing stood along a back face of the vegetable compartment, are arranged in a partitioning heat insulating material 26 of a front face of the cooling unit for freezing, and a cold air duct 21 to the freezing compartment is mounted at a side of the cooling unit for freezing.
