PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string bundle charging apparatus which is capable of eliminating a step of rolling a tape and of automatically charging a string bundle to a vessel of the string bundle without imparting an adverse effect to the string quality of the string bundle and without contacting with the inside of the vessel of the string bundle and without producing a foreign matter, and to provide a string bundle charging method. SOLUTION: The string bundle charging apparatus is provided with a string bundle cover to cover at least one part of the string bundle comprised of a predetermined number of string threads, a cutting means to cut the string bundle exposed from the string bundle cover, the vessel of the string bundle to charge the string bundle and a string bundle grasping device to grasp one end of the string bundle which passes the inside of the vessel of the string bundle and is exposed from the bundle cover and to draw the string bundle into the vessel of the string bundle to charge.
