The arrangement has a coolant pump (10), with pump outlet (46) and pump inlet (44), connected with the motor vehicle engine. The thermostat valve (18), connected at the pump inlet, is provided at the upstream of coolant pump. A connecting member (42) is provided between the thermostat valve and the coolant pump and tapers in the direction of flow.
