PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique enabling reduction of a processing load for generating a high-resolution image, using a plurality of low resolution images. SOLUTION: First, using a sheet of a reference low-resolution image among the plurality of input low-resolution images, a pixel value of an output high-resolution image is estimated. Further, using the reference low-resolution image, a low-resolution sheet of an estimated low-resolution image is generated. Also, a pixel value of the high-resolution error image representing an image synthesized from the difference between the above estimated low-resolution image and each input low-resolution image is calculated. Then, by means of negative feedback of the pixel value of the above high-resolution error image, the pixel value of the estimated output high-resolution image is updated.
