PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the employment of an organic carbonate and/or an organic nitrile on the oligomerization of a monoisocyanate and/or a polyisocyanate in the presence of a phosphine catalyst to form the uretedione, in order to achieve the increase of selectivity on the oligomerization. SOLUTION: This method for producing a uretedione group-containing polyisocyanate comprises oligomerizing a polyisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst system comprising (A) a phosphine and (B) an organic carbonate and/or an organic nitrile.
