PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-speed reproduction even when the address of data to be reproduced is not recorded in a disk during high-speed reproduction. SOLUTION: The device and the method for reproducing information are provided. The device is equipped with a table for recording the addresses of a plurality of data units reproduced within a time range including current time for each data unit. The number of data units to be subjected to jump-reproducing is obtained according to a reproduction speed, and whether addresses according to the number obtained in the table are valid or not is determined. When the addresses are valid, reproduction is carried out based on the valid addresses. When the addresses are invalid, reproduction is carried out based on the valid addresses of the addresses of the data units reproduced at time closer to current time than the reproducing time of the data units of the invalid addresses.
