PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly production system capable of easily corresponding to variation of the number of production. SOLUTION: A product is completed by assembling a plurality of small components 6 to a main component 5 in the assembly production system. An overhead conveyor 2 is composed by serially connecting a plurality of overhead transfer units 1 in a loop shape. The start point 2a and the end point 2b of the overhead conveyor 2 are brought close to each other. A plurality of hangers 3, to which a jig 37 for placing the main component 5 on the overhead conveyor 2 and component shelves 38, 39 for plural types of the small components 6 are provided, are suspended from the overhead conveyor 2. A worker 4 completes the product by assembling the small components 6 to the main component 5 while walking following the hanger 3 during a period until the hanger 3 is transferred from the start point 2a to the end point 2b.
