PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating device for a heat contraction sleeve for reinforcing an optical fiber splicing part, the device in which air bubbles are hardly left in a gap between a multi-core optical fiber and an inside tube when heating the heat contraction sleeve. SOLUTION: The heating device is designed to strengthen by heat contraction the side face of a heat contracting second sleeve 24 which serves to reinforce by covering, from the outer circumference side, a heat contracting first sleeve 22 that covers from the outer periphery the spliced part between coated optical fibers 21 constituting multi-core optical fibers 20 and also by covering the the first sleeve and a longitudinally bar-shaped reinforcing member 23 that is arranged along the first sleeve 22 and that is shaped like a half moon in the cross section composed of a linear part and a part of a circular arc. The device is used such that, in the view from the axal direction of the coated optical fibers 21, a line segmentαconnecting each axial center of the coated optical fibers 21 and a linear partβconstituting the cross section of the reinforcing member 23 are arranged not in parallel but in a manner inclined to each other.
