BLADE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY FOR AIRCRAFT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade antenna assembly for aircraft whose mechanical strength is increased while an increase in air resistance during a flight is suppressed. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the blade antenna assembly for aircraft which has a flat plate type antenna element covered with a dielectric cover. The antenna element has a couple of opposite main surfaces and an outer end surface forming an outline of the main surfaces. The antenna element has a plurality of through holes bored extending between the main surfaces and the dielectric cover is arranged even in the through holes to increase the strength of coupling between the antenna element and dielectric cover. On at least one main surface of the antenna element, a reinforcing rib may be arranged in a region enclosed with the outline. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
