The arrangement has a brake plate (3) which carries holes (4) lying behind one another in rows, at an end of a connector (2) of a brake unit. Wire pieces connected with one another are provided at the connector, so that individual hole is arranged under variation of the direction of the wire pieces arranged successively in the hole. The length of the wire pieces from the last hole determines the length of the brake path.
