<p>Process for manufacture of polypropylene fibers which are dyed in a bath is based on the preparation of a blend of polypropylene and a dyeable polymer, wherein the dyeable polymer which is to be dispersed in polypropylene in the process of making a fibre is a polyester polymer chosen from polyalkylene terephtalate and/or copolymers based on terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and/or sulfoisophthalic acid or sodium salt thereof and (C2-C4)-alkylene glycol and/or polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol or block copolymers thereof in an amount of 1.0 to 30.0 % by weight with the addition of a compatibiliser in an amount of 0.01 to 5.00 % by weight, wherein the compatibiliser is chosen from fatty acid amides and derivatives thereof and/or monoglycerol stearate or a mixture of glycerol sterates and/or dialkylphthalate having alkyl groups containing four or more carbon atoms, and/or stearic acid or other non-aqueous surfactant additives from the group of polyethylene glycols and copolymers thereof, wherein polyester polymer and compatibiliser are in the form of concentrate with polypropylene polymer and said concentrate is added into the main melt stream of the basic polypropylene polymer.</p> |
