<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can cope with various kinds of optical information recording mediums and can detect focus/tracking error signals realizing more stable recording/reproduction. <P>SOLUTION: A hologram element 17 has two or more different diffraction regions; and light receiving elements 18 to 23 are separated from first and second semiconductor lasers 11, 14, and are arranged at both sides thereof and along an extension connecting light emitting positions of the first and second semiconductor lasers 11, 14. Diffracted rays of light which are generated by allowing a light beam 10 having a first wavelength to be diffracted by the hologram element 17 and diffracted rays of light which are generated by allowing a light beam 13 having a second wavelength to be diffracted by the hologram element 17 are converged at almost the same positions in one side and also the light receiving elements 18 and 19 among the plurality of light receiving elements 18 to 23 are arranged at the above positions. Then, focus/tracking error signals are obtained using signals from light receiving elements 18 to 23 of both sides of one side and other side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
