<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinged cap that avoids trouble such as damage during the transfer of a food container with the cap and is excellent in quality reliability, designability, and production efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The hinged cap 10 includes an opening flange 13 formed on the peripheral face and opposite to the connection part to which an upper lid 12 is hinged at the top plate of a cap body 11 fitted and fixed on a food container B. The hinged cap 10 also includes a tamper evident cover 14 covering the peripheral part of the leading edge of the opening flange and also connected to the cap body 11 via a breakable weak part.
