<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material featuring excellent color developing properties, a low incidence of texture fog development to dry heat and wet heat in an undeveloped color part (an unused part) and outstanding shelf stability of a developed color image. <P>SOLUTION: This thermal recording material comprises a thermal color developing layer containing a normally colorless or pale-color color developing compound and a developing compound which makes the color developing compound thermally develop a color as principal components, formed on a support.
