PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective technique to simplify a structure, while maintaining operability of attaching/detaching of a tool bit in a tool holding device of a working tool. SOLUTION: A tool holding device 131 of this working tool (impact driver) has a bit holding member 115, a through hole 135, an engaging member 137, a cylindrical operating member 139 and an energizing member 141. When inserting the tool bit 109 into a bit mounting hole 133, the engaging member 137 allows a further inserting operation of the tool bit 109 by moving the operating member 139 from a regulation position to a regulation releasing position side against energizing force of the energizing member 141. When inserting the tool bit 109 into a prescribed position in the bit mounting hole 133, the operating member 139 is engaged to a lock groove of the tool bit 109 according to moving of the operating member 139 from the regulation releasing position to the regulation position.
