PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a storage medium used for the image processing apparatus such as an MFP. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 usable by a plurality of users includes: a box management section 101 for managing files FL for image processing by storing the files to boxes 5 of the respective users being possessors of the files; a total size calculation section 102 for calculating the total size of the files FL stored in each box 5 being an arrangement object; and a size excess discrimination section 103 for discriminating whether or not the total size exceeds a threshold value. When the discrimination section 103 discriminates that the total size exceeds the threshold value, the box management section 101 deletes any one or the plurality of files FL stored in the boxes 5 of the arrangement objects so that the total size becomes the threshold value or below.
