PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a runner mounting structure for a top-railed sliding door, which receives a mounting screw even if the mounting screw falls in a longitudinal groove formed in a stile during mounting work of a hanging member and the top-railed sliding door on each other by means of the mounting screw, prevents the same from falling to a lower location in the longitudinal groove, allows the operator to recover the mounting screw, and covers an upper edge of a metallic form, to thereby protect the hand of the operator from being injured even if the operator touches the metallic form. SOLUTION: In setting up the runner mounting structure, the hanging member 3 is hung downward from a runner 2 for traveling along an upper rail 1, and the stile 5 of the top-railed sliding door 4 is formed of a metallic section having the longitudinal groove 6 formed therein in the vertical direction. Then an end cover 7 covering the edge of an upper opening of the stile 5 is attached to the stile 5, and the hanging member 3 is inserted into the longitudinal groove 6 formed in the stile 5 to be screwed to the stile 5 by means of the mounting screw 8. The end cover 7 is comprised of a mounting screw falling preventive portion 9 which is arranged in the longitudinal groove 6 at a location slightly lower than a mounting location at which the hanging member 3 is attached to the stile by means of the mounting screw 8.
