PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pipe having sufficient strength on its end portion, and having high reliability, as it is not broken even when internal pressure of the heat pipe is increased in pipe enlargement connection. SOLUTION: This heat pipe has a structure where a diameter-reduced portion at its one end portion is covered by a reinforcement member. The method of manufacturing the heat pipe comprises injecting hydraulic fluid into a heat pipe container sealed at its one end from the other end portion, and sealing the other end portion after deairing. In the process for sealing the other end portion, a diameter of the other pipe portion is reduced to form the diameter-reduced portion, then an outer side of the diameter-reduced portion is covered with the reinforcement member, further a double pipe composed of the diameter-reduced portion and the reinforcement member is pressure-bonded from an outer side to form a temporary sealing portion, and a tip end of the temporary sealing portion is tightly sealed.
